A ridge located in the spectacular Olvena Gorge, carved by the Esera River, just 17 km from Barbastro.
It is a very aesthetic and simple ridge, with approximately 300 meters of route, perfect for beginners in the exciting world of ridges in a unique pre-Pyrenean environment.
It is a ridge with an overall difficulty of AD+ (Fairly Difficult) in mountaineering terms, but considered simple for those who already climb.
The route alternates between IIIº and IVº grade sections, ending with a more demanding final pitch of Vº.

The Cruz de Olvena Ridge rises above the spectacular gorges and canyons of the Ésera River, offering a very aerial climb with unbeatable views of the Aragonese Pre-Pyrenees.
One of the great advantages of this ridge is its comfortable approach. From the picturesque village of Olvena, a short trail of about 15 to 30 minutes downhill drops us at the base of the ridge. Once summited, the return to the village is equally fast and straightforward via an uncomplicated path.
The route runs on good quality limestone rock. The climb is semi-equipped (parabolts, rock threads, and pitons in key sections) and alternates very aerial sections. The maximum grade is Vº, concentrated in the final section, although the progression is maintained at IVº.
Unlike the high Pyrenean peaks, the Olvena Ridge is ideal for the colder months. The most recommended seasons are autumn, winter, and spring. During the summer, the heat inside the gorge can be excessive. Attention! It is important to always respect possible restrictions due to birds of prey nesting in the area.
