The Travesany Ridge is a spectacular line located in the heart of the Aigüestortes National Park. It is a long and demanding activity that crosses its emblematic needles.
It can be done in one day or in two days:
In one day: 3h approach, 5h ridge and 2h return to the car.
In 2 days: 3h to the Ventosa i Calvell refuge. The next day, 30 min approach, 5h ridge and 2h return to the car.
The route is very aerial and sustained, continuously alternating pitches of IVº and Vº grade.
The real difficulty lies in having a very good physical endurance to withstand the entire activity, it is a long traverse!

The Travesany Ridge (or Travessany Needles) is one of the most mythical and desired summer mountaineering routes in the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, in the magical Vall de Boí.
The activity consists of linking the ascent and descent of five successive needles. The rock is granite of exceptional quality, which offers maximum grip and allows you to enjoy every climbing step, with a sustained difficulty of IVº and isolated steps of IV+.
The adventure begins at the Cavallers dam. Although the total approach to the ridge from the car takes about 3 hours, the itinerary passes by the famous Ventosa i Calvell Refuge, located at 2,220m. Dividing the activity into two days and spending the night at the refuge is a highly recommended experience to enjoy the high mountain atmosphere and the glacial lakes (estanys) without rushing.
Being a high mountain route that can take around 8 to 10 hours of continuous activity (including approach, 4-5h of ridge, and descent), it requires a very good physical preparation and endurance base. The ideal season to do this ridge without winter complications is from late June to September.

Our shop and ski rental is right next to the national road and there is a parking area where our customers can park so you can comfortably stop on your way to the resort from Vielha to rent your ski and snowboard equipment or to pick it up if you have booked it.
